INCLUSIONS

PREOPERATIVE CONSULTATION

• Consultation on the patient‘s state of health is performed by the Head Physician/Deputy Head Physician of the Orthopaedic Department on the basis of the provided medical documentation including X-ray/MRI images (consultation takes place before the client arrives in the Czech Republic via e-mail in cooperation with QuickER and the clinic representative)


TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT

• Transport from the airport to the accommodation is arranged by the clinic.


PREOPERATIVE EXAMINATION

• During the pre-operative examinations, the patient is accommodated at their own expense outside the clinic; an interpreter is granted for all examinations

• Before health care services are provided, the patient shall pay the full amount of the ordered

service.

• The patient undergoes pre-operative examinations: at the Internal Medicine Department, their X-ray scans are acquired, undergoes a laboratory examination of blood and urine


HOSPITALISATION

• The patient enters the Orthopaedic Department on the day of the planned operation

• Upon admission, the patient is examined by a physician, acquainted with the treatment plan, and signs the informed consent forms.

• The patient is familiarised with the house rules of the clinic

• After the operation, the patient is placed in the Orthopaedic Department.

• The usual period of hospitalisation is 3 – 5 days.

• The rooms are double rooms and single rooms with a bathroom, television and access to the Internet.

• The clinic provides meals 3 times a day – the patient chooses lunch and dinner for the duration on the day of arrival (a choice from five meals is available – one for lunch, one for dinner). On the day of arrival, the patient is not provided with breakfast or lunch, they only choose dinner. The catering provided takes into account the patient‘s diet and current state of health.

• The medicine, crutches, braces and medical supplies are already included in the price of the stay and are provided as needed

• During the hospitalisation there are daily visits by a physician and a physiotherapist.


OPERATION

• After the patient’s consultation with an anaesthesiologist, the most appropriate method of anaesthesia is chosen, and the informed consent form is signed

• The procedures are performed under general or epidural anaesthesia

• Surgery usually takes 60 minutes

• During surgery, the surgeon attaches the graft to the bone with self-absorbing screws, which are usually absorbed within two years. In the case of worse bone condition at the fixation site, titanium screws are used, which remain in the client‘s body. The choice of screws is made by the surgeon after evaluating the current condition of the joint and bone during the procedure.


FINAL EXAMINATION

• At the end of the stay, the patient undergoes a final orthopaedic examination and receives a release report in Czech.

• The patient will receive the translated report in their preferred language no later than five working days from its issue


TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

• Transport from the clinic to the airport is arranged by the clinic.

Interpretation services are granted to patient every day, especially during examinations, ward rounds and procedures.
